Rueda

One of Spain's best white wines comes from Rueda. It is a fresh, crisp, dry wine made from Verdejo grapes .Located northwest of Madrid and just southwest of the mythical Ribera del Duero red wine region, lies the hugely successful wine appellation of Rueda. The light, fresh white wines for which Rueda is well known are made from grapes that are initially chilled (to below fermentation temperature) and then remain gas-blanketed throughout cold fermentation. Pressing is done very gently and the free-run must is mixed with some pressed wine.

Verdejo Grapes
Very high quality and one of the best white varieties in Spain. The variety can oxidize relatively easy. The wines are well balanced and structured. Typically Verdejo wines are crisp with soft, creamy, nutty overtones, and sometimes accompanied by notes of honey. Arguably Spain's finest white grape variety
