Albariño Grapes
The most distinctive White Grape in Spain and now producing its most expensive dry whites. It is grown almost exclusively in Galicia in Spain's rain- sodden north-west, Its thick skin enables it to withstand the damp climate of Galicia and the subsequent fruit is small, sweet and high in glycerol, producing wines high in alcohol and acidity. High quality Albariño dominated wines are intensely aromatic and redolent of peaches, apricots and almonds on the palate. Albariño wines have a straw yellowish colour, with golden and green nuances. The fine and unique bouquet is fruity and floral; it is very pleasant, of average intensity and average to long duration. The taste is fresh and mild, full-bodied and with an adequate alcoholic degree, balanced acidity, harmonious and with many pleasant nuances. The persisting taste is pleasant elegant and complete. .
